I have been collecting vintage stamps for the past three years. When I go home to visit my family in Ohio I also try to stop in at my favorite paper stationary store that sells a large variety of rubber stamps with a huge selection of graphics and images. All the stamps I have used above were sourced in Ohio. But now, in California, I look for rubber stamps to use in my art all over the thrift stores I currently visit. I like to use stamping as a image creation tool.
What possessed me to purchase the stamps above were the images radiating from them. I love collecting and repurposing graphics that speak to me visually. The two dolphins kissing and making a heart is so good to me I wish I was the one who created it originally! I recently had the idea to use my stamp collection in my ceramic investigations. I bought an underglaze ink stamp pad that I decided to use on my bisque wear. Now I can play with different composition of stamps to adorn my ceramic pieces. It is a new image making process I am investigating in the studio.

june 2023 The rain put a damper on the day and made set up a little more challenging for me in the morning. I decided to limit the amount of items I put out to avoid damaging my art. It was the worst month for me so far. My fifth Rose Bowl Flea vending and the least amount of money made in total. I left feeling slightly defeated. july 2023 In July, I debuted my new ceramic plates I have been working on. I've had the most fun making plates lately through hand building practices and the slab roller in the ceramic studio. The plates started out as creations for my own home, and then I challenge myself to sell them instead of keeping them- which worked out for me because I sold all the new plates I created in the studio at my booth in July! I also made some Hello Kitty coasters in small and large sizes that did well. I find inspiration in the things I love within my own personal life. Instead of creating and making with the intention of selling, I fuel my practice by creating and making pieces I adore and would enjoy in my own home.
