These collages below are in their beginning stages of making. The studies involve collected images and my own film 35mm photographs from life experience and travel. I am working layers on-top of my collages to represent the notion of time through process and making. I am documenting my life through a 35mm camera and working with my photographs to communicate the weight of space and time. I am then adding layers of information to their compositions to communicate growth and play with the expansion of image. When I was traveling in Colorado this year I found an old frame at a thrift store that was dated 1986... I LOVED THE ENERGY IN THE TULIP FRAME AESTHETICS SO MUCH because it reminded me of my childhood bedroom wallpaper. Then I collaged it with my 35mm film photographs from traveling during that time once they were developed. I LOVE THE WAY THE IMAGE HAS PRESENTED ITSELF AFTER BEING SCANNED. It communicates two different levels of space and time for me because I physically found the frame in Colorado which holds weight to location and then the collaged film photographs inside the frame were from important nature spots in Colorado I took myself to during my trip. I have created a collage and turned it into a digital image that serves as a definition for my being in the world.
